Stone Temple is a magazine of Progressive Wicca and Archaeology. It aims to reach out to other Pagans and like minded people. For those of you who are unsure of what Paganism actually means here are a few pointers: The term 'Pagan' describes somebody who reveres the pre-Christian God/esses. This encompasses a wide range of cultures from Celtic, Norse and Greek to native American and Aborigine. What they all have in common is living closely with the land, observing and celebrating it's natural rhythms and the worship of The Goddess and God, whatever form They may take. Perhaps the most infamous of Pagan deities is The horned God (Herne, Cernunnos and Pan). The horned God is a nature and fertility deity, not 'the devil' or evil as most Christians are led to believe. Pagans are not satanists or 'devil worshippers'. The general Pagan philosophy is if it doesn't harm anything ( human, animal or environment ) in any shape or form, do what you will! This places the emphasis on self-developed morality and conscience. Many Pagans are vegetarian and work closely with the land, in the community or caring professions. Any person seen to have 'dodgy ' morals or working methods would be frowned upon and ostracised by the majority of Pagans. There are various traditions which come under the umbrella of Paganism i.e. Shamanism, Druidism, Wicca etc. Most Pagans believe in the three fold law which means any magick worked will be returned three times over in a positive or negative way. This means that if, for example, you decided to curse somebody, this would be returned to you with three times the force and visa versa magickal workings for more positive goals. We hope this has been helpful to those of you who were previously uninformed or misinformed. For information on contacts in this area or contributions to the magazine (which would be gratefully received!) please Email Stone Temple

Blessed Be.
